General Services



General Services include, but are not limited to, services such as non-profit organizations, professional services, financial services, personal services, barber shops, hair salons, tattoo studios, manicurists, tailors, dressmakers, shoe repair shops, dry cleaners, laundromats, business support services, broadcasting studios, publishing companies, funeral services, animal and pet care services, real estate services, household repair services, rental and leasing services, janitorial services, education services, travel agencies, utility services, information technology services, and adult services, such as body rubs, body painting, escort services, or dating services.


Depending on the nature of your business, you may be required to provide the following information for your business licence application:


  • Floor Area: Provide the total square footage (m²) of your business location.
  • Non-Profit Organization: If your business is a registered non-profit organization, a copy of your Societies Act Certificate of Incorporation is required.

Note: There will be a non-refundable application fee (in addition to the Licence fee as calculated). The non-refundable application fee will be collected during the licence application process, with the remaining amount due online after you receive an approval email. Licence fees are waived for Non-Profit Organizations. Online Payment: Acceptable methods for online payments include MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.
Credit card payments are subject to a surcharge of 2.4%
