Childcare, Health & Medical Services


Childcare, Health, and Medical Services include businesses such as childcare centres, day nurseries, nanny services, and baby-sitting services. This category also encompasses medical and dental offices, chiropractic services, massage therapy, acupuncture clinics, health clinics, counseling services, personal care aides, senior support services, personal coaches, holistic health services, laboratories, and private hospitals.


Depending on the nature of your business, you may be required to provide the following information for your business licence application:


  • Floor Area: Provide the total square footage (m²) of your business location.
  • Childcare Services: If offering childcare services, specify the number of children and ages. A maximum of 8 children for a Home Based Business. If there are more than 8 children, a Building Permit is required.
  • Non-Profit Organizations: If your business is a registered non-profit, a copy of your Societies Act Certificate of Incorporation is required.

Note: There will be a non-refundable application fee (in addition to the Licence fee as calculated). The non-refundable application fee will be collected during the licence application process, with the remaining amount due online after you receive an approval email. Licence fees are waived for Non-Profit Organizations. Online Payment: Acceptable methods for online payments include MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.
Credit card payments are subject to a surcharge of 2.4%
